Streamlining Scrap Around The World for 2015!

Hello again!  Today is usually the day that we announce our winners.

We have made a change to our schedule going forward & we will be

announcing our winners on the 8th of each month in future.

This may seem like a long time when you are waiting, but for us it

has been very difficult to get the winner's post done & out by the 4th

of each month & to do so is unnecessarily stressful all round.

If you have ever wondered about our voting process this is how

things work :-  Once the challenge has closed approximately

a quarter of our team {6 ladies} compile their votes & send them

in to me within 2 days {we have a rotating voting schedule}.

This is because voting is no easy task & takes around 2 hours!!

Once I receive all votes I draw up a table & transcribe all the

numbers into one place (everyone assigns points from 10 to 1).

I then add up all the points & compile the post from there.

As we receive a large amount of entries within the last few days of 

closing, voting can only start on the 1st & the DT cannot drop

 everything to get their votes to me within 48 hours as at times

the end of the month may coincide with the weekend.

 With such a high standard of work from our entrants & so many

entries we want to be able to study EVERY entry & not rush

through the process so have decided it is best all round to 

to have 4 days to get the votes in & a couple of days for me

to tally everything up then get the information necessary

passed on to Rachael who in turn will need a couple of days

to create the Wall of Fame along with the post!

This year I will not be writing all of the posts myself 

& the posting team will be fully responsible for them. 

Scrap Around The World is a great place to run but I have

never wanted it to be my only achievement & have a number

of other endeavours on my agenda this year, so thanks to

these capable ladies for helping me out until June!

as we head into our 6th month already! 

 So take a peek to keep yourself in the loop!!

I have copied & pasted the '10 Golden Rules' from our page tab up top.

1.  We are a South African based challenge blog with an international design team
 & encourage all scrapbookers & art journalers to join in, whatever your style
& wherever you live :) {ALL our prizes are always sent out internationally}.

2.  We accept scrapbooking pages/layouts & canvases with a minimum size
of 8 x 8 inches.  We also accept art journal DOUBLE-SPREAD pages
(minimum single page size of 14 x 19cm/5.5 x 7.5 inches per page).  We do
not accept digital entries, off-the-page projects, altered items, ATCs or tags.

3.   To play along all you have to do is use our ANYTHING on our MOOD BOARD
for inspiration & LET US KNOW what it was that inspired you!  For example one
of the images or more than one of them, or perhaps just the general mood/theme or
the colours.  As we are NOT a COLOUR CHALLENGE SITE you don't need to
 use any colours from our mood boards UNLESS YOU WANT TO (if you do you
can use as many or as few as you like).  Our sketches are OPTIONAL. 

4.  You need to post the image of our mood board in your post AND mention
 that you are playing along with us at 'Scrap Around The World' -
 including a link back to the challenge reveal post to be eligible to enter.

5.  You need to be a blog owner to play.  (so you can link up to your blog).

 Please don't link up to galleries as often this is problematic if our design team 

are not members of the same gallery & therefore cannot gain access easily.

6.  You may combine our challenges with any other challenges
 that allow it or any of your design team work.

7.  You may submit as many entries as you like!

8.  To enter our challenges you need to add your creation to our linky tool
on the right-hand side of our blog RIGHT AT THE TOP,
along with a DIRECT LINK TO YOUR POST.

{To do this click on the title of your post then copy & paste what
 you see in the address bar - the ENTIRE URL into the linky tool}

Please do not link to your entire blog as this makes it difficult to find your post
 & therefore could result in us being unable to comment on or judge your entry.

Then add your NAME & COUNTRY to your title on the linky tool - this is so
that if you are a finalist or featured we get your location correct on our Wall of Fame
as this cannot be changed once it is  created & if you don't tell us we have to guess... :)

9.  In the unlikely event that our linky tool is malfunctioning we will accept links
 in the comments section but for this reason only,
if all is working as per normal please use the Linky!
{& if the linky malfunctions & is repaired please return & add your layout to the Linky}.

9.  The onus is on the prize winners to email me at scrapaddict {at} telkomsa {dot} net
on or before the 10th of the following month.  Prize winners are to please provide
their postage details (full name & full postal address) together with their name &
WHAT THEY HAVE WON in the subject line.

Our challenges will run ONCE A MONTH and be revealed on the 1st day of every
 month.  Entries are due in by midnight (Eastern Standard Time - US) on the LAST
DAYof each month, with winners announced around the 4th of the following month.

We feature TEN ENTRIES every month.  Finalists are voted for by our Design Team
& we have ONE winner, FOUR features & 5 finalists who each get a badge to
display on their blogs.  We also draw a random winner monthly so anyone can win!

Wherever possible prizes will be awarded to our top 5 entries plus our random winner.
The merit winner is invited back as our Guest Designer the following month & is featured
in his/her own post together with a head shot, 10 sentence bio & any relevant links.

We do our best to ensure that each entrant receives a comment from a few of our
design team members IF they do NOT have Word Verification on their blogs
{if you do it is less likely that you will receive comments so if they are
important to you please select COMMENT MODERATION instead}.
