Video Tutorial by Anna Wisniewska
{Design Team 'Moment To Shine'}

Hello fellow crafters! It's Heather McMahon back with you
today to welcome you to another video tutorial in our
Design Team 'Moment To Shine' series.

Today we have a bright and fun-filled winter-themed layout
from Anna Wisniewska from Poland. Anna was inspired
by our current challenge here.

Anna's inspiration came from the mood board's beautiful colour
scheme of blue, grey, black & white with a pop of red
as well as the wonderful, joyful, holiday spirit.

Let's get to know Anna a little bit better:

"Hi everybody! My name is Anna Wisniewska. I live in
Poland near the Baltic Sea. I fell in love with scrapbooking
over 5 years ago & it is still my big passion. I especially love
creating layouts - these give me the space to express my
feelings & memories. My projects are always bright, colourful
& full of emotions, different media & messy paint splashes.

You can find my blog here, Pinterest here
Facebook here & here, YouTube here & Instagram here.

Click on the link below to watch Anna's video:

Here are some close ups of the bright, fun embellishments.

Anna has used stamping to unite her scattered elements.

The pops of red really add some zing to the page.

The finished layout.

Here are the supplies Anna used:

Supplies List

Papers, stickers, chipboard, small paper
elements & stamps - 7 Dots Studio
Stencil - Heidi Swapp
Sprays - Lindy's Stamp Gang
 Alpha stickers - Thickers
Ink - Ranger Archival
Gesso, white pen

Please leave a comment for Anna if you enjoyed her tutorial
& remember, every comment you leave puts you in the running
to win our $50 FOLLOWERS' PRIZE from The Dusty Attic!

Photo Tutorial by Karine Gagnon
{Design Team 'Moment To Shine'}

Hello everyone! It's Heather McMahon back with you
today to welcome you to another photo tutorial in our
Design Team 'Moment To Shine' series.

Today we have a stunning Christmas-themed layout by

Karine Gagnon from Canada. Karine was inspired by our
 current challenge HERE.

We saw Karine's sneak peek in the mood board reveal
now she is sharing a photo tutorial of how she
 made her so-sweet layout.

Karine was inspired by the colours of the moodboard, especially the
blue in the candy canes picture. She also included texture from
the moodboard: bark hearts to echo the branches from the tree & a
canvas heart to echo the wool & marshmallow from the last picture.

Let's get to know Karine a little bit better:

"Hi, scrappy friends. My name is Karine Gagnon & I'm from Canada. I'm the
mother of 2 very energetic children who are 6 & almost 3 now. They are the stars
of my layouts. I'm also a high school French teacher & I love my job. I've been
a scrap addict for over 10 years now & my passion for the hobby always seems
to grow! I'm always trying to learn something new. I love mixed
media & can't seem to create without paint or inks.

I'm glad to be a part of Scrap Around The World's team & I'm feeling very
honoured to show you how my layout came together. You can find my blog here
my Pinterest here, my YouTube channel here & my Instagram here."

1) Prime the background paper (I chose a 13@rts paper from the Cosy Evening collection) with clear gesso & dry with a heat gun or air dry.

2) Apply modelling paste through a stencil to opposite
corners of the page to add texture, then dry.

3) Adhere some torn doilies with gel medium. Glue the doilies to
roughly form the shape of an egg & dry.

4) Add some very heavy gesso over the doilies to add more texture & dry.

5) Add some joint tape over the doilies & in a few places on your paper.

6) Add your choice of colour sprays, one by one, drying each colour before you add the next one. Add drops or splashes of colour for extra texture.

7) Choose a few stamps with different patterns (I chose a grid, some squares
& some typewriter words) & stamp randomly with ink. Try to choose ink colors
that are close to the ones you used on your background.

8) Choose 1 or 2 more stamps & this time, stamp with black ink to add contrast.

9) Prime your chipboard pieces with white gesso. Sprays make this job easy.

10) Adhere your photo & embellishments in place.

11) Dry brush some gesso onto the embellishments with a small
sponge brush. This helps to tie everything together.

12) Adhere micro beads & glass beads on and around your flowers clusters
with gel medium for some finishing sparkle.

The finished layout is a medley of gorgeous colours and textures.

Note how Karine has kept her embellishments clustered
tightly together for a strong impact.

The background links the 2 separate clusters to create a cohesive look.

Karine has achieved stunning texture on both her
background & her embellishments.

The products Karine used:

Clear gesso, modeling paste & 3D matte gel - Prima

November 2015 Guest Designer
Sanderijn de Bruin from Netherlands

Hello everyone!

Anna Wiśniewska here with you today!!

It has been such a pleasure this month so far
to look at all your wonderful creations
inspired by the cosy November mood board,
designed by Tiphanie Barbreau {France}.

The amount of talent that you share each month
never stops to amaze us!!

I have the pleasure today to introduce to you our
November Guest Designer!

But first, please view our current challenge *HERE*
& the mid-month reveal based on the same challenge *HERE*

Her unique style & excellent eye for details earned her
the 1st place rank in our September challenge,
& today she's back to inspire us with another amazing creation,
this time based on the November mood board.

Sanderijn de Bruin {Netherlands}

Let's get to know Sanderijn a little better
"My name is Sanderijn de Bruin & I live in The Netherlands with my husband & 6 year old daugther. She is my biggest inspiration. I love to use mixed media in my scrapbookpages. I mostly work with stencils, modelling paste, mica powders & all kinds of inks & sprays. I am always challenging myself to do different projects, different things I normally wouldn't do, use colors I wouldn't choose myself in the first place, use products I never used before, to extend my horizon & to develop more techniques. I love to work with moodboards. They are so inspiring, challenging & fun to work with! You can find my blog here my Pinterest here & my Instagram here."

Now, let's see the beautiful layout that the November mood board inspired Sanderijn to create!

Sanderijn sprayed the whole page with white ink, to create a "snow" effect. Isn't that wonderful?

By using a stencil with light paste and mica powder "pale silver" she created twinkling lights in the background. The pearls strengthen that effect.

The blue ink sprayed here and there on the page, and chipboard pieces embossed with blue shimmering embossing powder, added the blue touch on Sanderijns' page.

Thank you so much Sanderijn for being our Guest Designer this month
& sharing this gorgeous piece of art with us!

Please leave Sanderijn some love in the comments
& visit her blog HERE to see more details on how she created
this layout as well as more of her outstanding creations.

We hope that you will be inspired to play along
with our November mood board!
Like every month, we have AMAZING PRIZES up for grabs
so please join us & link your entry as soon as you can!

Challenge closes Monday, 30th November!
