Video Tutorial byYasmin Tolche
{Design team 'Moment To Shine'}

Hello there! It's Heather McMahon back with you today to welcome
you to another video tutorial in our Design Team 'Moment To Shine' series.

Today we have a  beautifully soft & delicate layout by
Yasmin Tölche from Norway.

Yasmin was inspired by our current challenge here.

We saw a sneak peak of Yasmin's layout in the mid-month reveal
now she is sharing a video of how she made her beautiful
project which captures the very essence of vintage style.

Yasmin was inspired by the all the vintage goodness in the mood board
& it made her want to scrap a vintage photo of her family members. Roses
& old books & a little vintage pink made it all come together.

Let's get to know Yasmin a little bit better:

"Hello! My name is Yasmin Tölche & I'm from Norway. I'm a mum to 3 awesome
boys & a dog & I live in a mountain village in the middle of Norway. I've been
scrapbooking for 10 years now & I love it. I like all kinds of papercrafting
but my specialty by far is layouts. My layouts are always loaded
with mixed media, layers & embellishments - just the way I like them.

I love to teach & have been teaching scrapbooking for about 7 years now. I've just
recently started making YouTube videos. I'm so honoured & excited to be able
to make a video tutorial here for you today.

You can find my blog here, Facebook here, Instagram here
Pinterest here & YouTube channel here."

Click on the link below to watch Yasmin's video:

Here are some close ups showing the gorgeous details of the layout:

The soft, vintage colours work perfectly with the beautiful photo.

There are so many details on this project - look closer and you will see more!

The finished layout is a symphony of balanced colour and design.

Photo Tutorial by Priscilla Lim
{Design Team 'Moment To Shine'}

Hello SATW friends! It's Heather McMahon back with you
today to welcome you to another photo tutorial in our
Design Team 'Moment To Shine' series.

Today we have a beautifully detailed layout by

Priscilla Lim from Singapore, inspired by our
 current challenge here.

Priscilla showed us a sneak peek in the mid-month reveal
now she is sharing a photo tutorial of how she
 made her gorgeous project.

Priscilla took her inspiration from the rose, the calligraphy
& the pen in this month's beautiful mood board.

Let's learn a little more about Priscilla...

"Hello everyone!  My name is Priscilla Lim from the sunny island of Singapore.  I'm a full time working mum. I started scrapping in 2007 when my son Gabriel was born. I LOVE scrapping with a capital L!  Playing with pretty things & mediums is my number ONE passion.

Scrapping has come a long way for me over the years
from being just simple fun to being therapeutic, to
being addictive! If I can't scrap for a while, I get
grouchy!  I'm so thankful & excited to be a
part of this awesome team, woohoo!!

You can find me on my Blog here,
 Facebook here, Instagram here,
You Tube here & Pinterest here."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 ) Prime the background paper with a layer of transparent gesso.
When dry, stencil a crackled effect with white gesso.

2) To highlight the cracks, mist them generously with vibrant yellow spray.
Tilt the paper to allow the extra mist to flow downwards.

3) Apply a second layer of cracks with the stencil & gesso.
When dry, add some splatter effects with pink, green & white paint.

4) Utilise some packaging by distressing the edges & inking with Distress Ink.

5) Apply white gesso through a flower stencil onto the background & apply
platinum texture paste through the same stencil onto the recycled packaging.
Adhere the packaging to the page leaving edges free to tuck items under.

6) Coat the chipboard with 2 layers of white gesso for an even finish.
Using archival ink, create different looks by stamping 1 chipboard
shape with a crackle stamp & 1 with a script image stamp.

7) On the heart swirls chipboard, lightly brush a coat of the yellow mist used previously.
The stamping won't bleed as archival ink is permanent.

8) Swipe blue paint around the edges of two copies of the same photo.
Adhere one on top of the other as shown on the layout.

9) Layer tags and embellishments under & around the photos.
Include diecuts, alphabet thickers & flowers.

10) Add some gauze between both photos & some micro beads around
the photo & in the bottom of the open heart.

11) Dab some white gesso on to the flowers & you're done!

The finished layout showing all the gorgeous details.

Look at the gorgeous layering & the unique title placement.

Notice how Priscilla has layered chipboard on other embellishments
then layered more items on top of the chipboard for extra impact.

The clear & striking photo ensures it remains the feature of the page.

The products Priscilla used:

Supplies List

Patterned Paper - Echo Park {For the Record 2}
Mist - Tattered Angels Chalkboard Mist - Pot of Gold

September 2015 Guest Designer
Vera Shelemekh from Russia

Hello everyone!
It's Anna Wiśniewska here with you today!!

In Europe September is a month of calming down.
We enter slowly in an autumn mood
& the Scrap Around the World September mood board,
designed by Lydie Denis - Lilibleu from France,
invites us to take a step back in time,
be nostalgic & write love letters...

You have shared amazing projects so far,
& all of us at SATW are looking forward to seeing more.

In the meantime, I'm very happy to introduce you
to our September Guest Designer!

First, please view our current challenge *HERE*
& our mid-month reveal based on the same challenge *HERE*.

Having been the winner of our July 2015 challenge,
she was asked to join us this month
with another layout in her beautiful, artsy style,
this time based on the September mood board.

Vera Shelemekh {Russia}

Let's get to know Vera a little better:

"Hi, I'm Vera from Moscow, Russia.
Scrapbboking is my hobby, my work & my lifestyle :-)
You can learn more about me from my blog *HERE*
& my Instagram profile *HERE*."

Take a look at Vera's amazing layout, based on our poetic mood board!

Vera has captured so many elements of the mood board!
Look at the pastel, feminine colors & wooden background with a touch of white.
Her use of the love letter theme is perfect.

I love the number of different layers that Vera has created!

The graphics alongside the delicate embossing emphasize the old-fashioned, nostalgic look, don't you think?

Stencilling with white paste & the white splashing add much character to this layout.

Thank you so much Vera for participating in our challenges &
for agreeing to be our Guest Designer this month.
We were wowed by your July winning layout

& we also absolutely love this one!

Please leave Vera some love in the comments
& visit her blog *HERE* to see more details on how she created
this layout as well as more of her outstanding creations.

For any of you who haven't linked your project yet,
we hope that you will be inspired to play along & link up soon!

Challenge closes Wednesday, 30th September!

Design Team Mid Month Reveal
{September 2015 challenge 28 by Lydie Denis aka Lilibleu}

Welcome back to all our dear Scrap Around the World followers!

Before we get on with our mid-month reveal post,
here is a quick note about COMMENTING!
While of course we LOVE seeing all your entries rolling in & realize how very
important it is to provide support & encouragement to all our players, we have
decided recently not to comment in the last 48 hours or on any entries over
120 {whichever comes first} BECAUSE by that stage we are busy studying
your amazing works & working out our favourites, all ready for voting!!

So please understand & forgive us ♥
If comments are really important to you, please
remember to get your entry in early enough :)

This month's mood board was created by Lydie Denis,
our French Design Team member.
The mood board is imbued with a vintage atmosphere of the antique:
yellowed books, distressed wood, stained paper, ink, nib,
old journals. As a contrast to these images,
there is also a beautiful, pink rose - fresh & delicate.
This mood board is sure to entice everyone who loves vintage!
Even if your style is more contemporary, you can still find
lots of great inspirations in it: colors, hand-writing, tags, strings,
flowers, wood patterns & of course the amazing quote!
So hopefully you'll be inspired & join our September challenge!
