Hello SATW friends! It's Heather McMahon back with you today to welcome
you to another photo tutorial in our Design Team 'Moment To Shine' series.
Today we have an amazing art journal page by Design Team member
Marianne Johansson from Norway. Marianne used our current challenge
HERE as her inspiration.
Marianne is sharing a photo tutorial showing how she made her eye-catching project.
Marianne was inspired by the glamorous shoes, the bling around the
lady's ankle &, of course, the colour pink!
Here's an update on Marianne:
"Hello everyone! My name is Marianne Johansson & I live in
Hamar, Norway, with my hubby & 2 teenage daughters.
I started scrapbooking in 2005, documenting my daughters' lives
through photographs & layouts. I later began experimenting with art
journaling & mixed media projects. My happiest times in my craft
room are when I can play with art journals just for fun.
I love it when my fingers are coated with ink & paint!
You can find my blog here , Instagram here & my Facebook page here"
..................................................
1. To create the background, first gesso the page then add a coat of
gel medium. Mix watercolour paint with water on a craft sheet.

2. Paint randomly onto the art journal page with a brush, letting the colour
run in places. Go over some areas a second time.
3. Find some interesting images from magazines. Look for images
that suit your theme like the glamorous ones I used.
4.. You may need more than 1 cutting tool to fussy-cut your images. I used scissors
for the large photo & a craft knife for the rings. Make sure you use a
good cutting mat to protect your work surface when using a craft knife.
5. Add some gesso through a stencil & some splatters with
6. Use gel medium to glue 2 of the rings on her eyes. I love
making funny statements on my pages!
7. When everything is dry, use a black pen to add details & journaling.
Add some bling & stamp some stars & your page is finished!
The gel medium dries to a clear, textural finish.
A little doodling creates extra interest on the background.
Search sites like Pinterest for suitable quotes.
