Photo Tutorial by Hera Sugitani {Design Team "Moment To Shine"}

Hi everyone and welcome to the first of July's
"Design Team Moment To Shine" tutorials.

Today we have a step by step photo tutorial by Design Team member
Hera Sugitani, from Brazil, using our current  challenge here.

Hera says "The July mood board created by Tusia Lech is fantastic & I created
2 projects for it because I loved it so much!  One layout for the reveal & another
one to share with you today!  I hope it will inspire you to play along if you haven't
already :)  Time is running out now - just one week to go!

Let's get to know a little about Hera.

Hello, my name is Hera Sugitani & I'm from Brazil!
I'm a literature teacher & an art lover.
I discovered scrapbooking in 2007 & I fell in love with this art!!
I officially started working with it only in 2010 & now it is my passion!!!

  I'm married & have two wonderful daughters (7 & 14 years old).
My family is my main source of inspiration.
My style is eclectic.  I LOVE flowers & butterflies & am a very romantic person.
This year I have the pleasure to be on many Design teams & to be a part of
Scrap Around The World is a great honour for me too
.  You can find my blog here & I would love for you to visit me :)

Now I will show you the process of creating my layout.

STEP 1

Cut out 3 journaling cards & use the back
of the same paper to cut a bigger piece. (6" x 9").

STEP 2

Adhere the 6 x 9" paper, then glue a piece of Chevron paper (6" x 8") on top of it.
Now apply gesso around the papers to soften the edges.

STEP 3

Apply a stamp you like using Staz-On/archival ink.
I chose a post card stamp.

STEP 4

Adhere the tags & apply gesso around them too.

STEP 5

Add your photo, apply gesso &stamp again.
This time I used a set of many different stamps.

STEP 6

Using a glue gun, add the flowers.
I also added some pink crystals to enrich the layout.

STEP 7

Add your title.
 I used American Craft Thickers.

Your layout is complete!

A few closeups...

Small sweet flowers in the basket.

Lovely details in the title, crystals & stamps.

My sweet daughter . . . isn't she beautiful?

What do you need to achieve this look?

A photo, papers, flowers, crystals, alphabet
letters, ink, stamps & some gesso.

Paper - Marion Smith Garment District Remnants & Manhattan
Paper - Marion Smith Mad Tea Party Alice
